Protagonists of the Fifth Anniversary of the Insurtech Association of Mexico (AIM)
Klimber took part in the 5th anniversary of the Insurtech Association of Mexico, sharing insights and learnings about international partnerships.
On September 26, the Insurtech Association of Mexico (AIM) celebrated its fifth anniversary in a significant event held at the British Embassy in Mexico City. The gathering brought together more than 50 AIM members, representing the strength and leadership of the digital insurance sector in Mexico.
Gustavo Flamerich, Country Manager of Mexico for Klimber, was invited to speak about international partnerships in the insurtech field. Representing Klimber, Flamerich shared his vision on the opportunities and challenges faced by digital companies in an increasingly interconnected world. In his talk, he highlighted the advantages of operating as a digital insurtech and how partnerships with international companies positively impact sector growth. These benefits, however, also present challenges, as large multinational corporations demand the highest security standards and operational excellence. “Alliances with international companies require constant evolution in systems, processes, and organization — with a strong focus on service and high security standards. They allow us to take part in the joint development of innovative solutions that are often more difficult to create within large corporations,” he stated.
The power of international partnerships
The impact of international partnerships was one of the two key panels of the event. Moderated by Alejandra García Jaime from Marsh, the panel featured Flamerich, Sergio Zuniga, CEO of Blitz Mexico, and Rosa Vélez, UNDP officer in Mexico. Together, they shared insights on how global collaborations are transforming the insurtech industry and strengthening innovation and resilience across Mexico.
Growth and future of AIM
The event also included remarks from Oscar Garza Portillo, president of AIM, who congratulated member companies and highlighted AIM’s impressive growth since its foundation. In just five years, AIM has expanded from 8 to 75 member companies, establishing itself as one of the most influential associations in the digital insurance sector in Latin America.
This fifth anniversary not only celebrated AIM’s growth but also marked the consolidation of insurtech in Mexico as a driving force of innovation that is revolutionizing the insurance industry and positioning the country as a regional leader.
